October is almost upon us. We say it is the best time to remember the saints of October in 2014. There are innumerable October Catholic saints who have left their own imprint on the world with their path breaking contributions, philosophies and service to humanity. Here’s taking a closer look into the lives of some of the finest among them.
St. Leger grew up at the court of King Clotaire II and was raised by the Bishop Didon of Poitiers who was his uncle. He became the Archdeacon and thereafter rose to become the Abbot of Maxentius Abbey in 651. It was during his stint here that he brought in the Rule of St. Benedict and also stayed at Queen Regent St. Bathildis’ side after Clovis II expired in 656. (more…)
